What to use to re-seal my shower floor?
My shower is a river rock floor.

I recently used bleach to kill all the mold and scrubbed the floor very well. I want to seal the surface. A friend told me to use a "non-penetrating" seal. I went to Lowes and the fella recommended "Valspar water proofer" (see picture).

This Valspar stuff seems like water and I doubt will provide a good long lasting seal. I want to put down a good seal that will last at least a year or two and obviously seal out water well. I don't mind if there ends up being a little bit of a glossy look.
Should I use the Valspar that Lowes recommended or something else?
THANKS!

I would pick a penetrating grout sealer. What you've pictured is an exterior sealant for tile, pavers & stone. I have used masonry sealers outside on paver patios but never inside on grout.

Thanks for your reply. "Penetrating" seemed like a more protective option. But the grout guy that re-sealed the grout in the rest of the bathroom stressed "Make sure you get a NON-penetrating concrete sealer"...
I'm quite confused!

100 percent use penetrating sealer. Since it is river rock you can use a premium concentrated stone sealer (superior brand / aquamix brand) it will seal your stone as well as the grout. You want the seal to penetrate the grout and stone to keep the original look you wanted. In the future only use NEUTRAL stone cleaners that won't break down the sealer.
