Question

hi" i have helped on many roofs but never have been in charge of putting one on. soon i will be putting a roof on for a freind. the person who knows what they are doing has backed out.



now for the ? how do i overlap in the valley's i never helped with tis section of the roof?

I always start in the valley and work back toward the rake of the smaller roof. This gives a full shingle under the lap side of the main roof. Some guys nail an additional line of shingles up one side of the valley to use as a cut edge (optional). I always cut back about 2" on main roof side of valley.
