Water leak to basement due to gap between concrete driveway and brick exterior

My home was built in the 40's with brick exterior walls. At some point a concrete driveway was added along the side of the home that abuts the exterior wall. There is about a 1/2 gap between the driveway concrete and the brick wall. It appears that at one time this was sealed with a tar-like substance but that has deteriorated and pulled away. I am now getting a water leak to the basement through this gap. What is the correct method and product to use to seal the gap?

Call a blacktop company and have them install a hot poured crack sealer.
