Window Leaking - Common problem I know
Hi All,
Took a few pictures of where my windows are leaking. Where I'm pointing in the picture actually has a small layer of ice! I couldn't get a picture of it, but when I'm at the correct angle I can actually see a little bit of daylight coming through the top corner of the window and frame.
Any suggestions on a fix for this? I was thinking of shooting a small dab of expandable foam in the gap I can see to stop some of the air loss and then digging into what could be the issue come spring...

One more thing...
I'm pretty sure, snow isn't getting into the house from here, but the ice is from the humidity inside the home condensing and then freezing as it hits the cold air.

And if you are looking for a temp fix until warmer weather I would go with caulk in the tube or robe. The foam is a nightmare to cleanup. If you do go with the foam though be absolutely sure you use the window/door can and use it sparingly.

First off, is the window completely shut... and locked?
Assuming it is, bring the window down just a bit... look to see if the gsp of light you see is even all the way across, or maybe you will see that there is 1/8" of light on the right and 1/4" on the left. That would tell us that the window is out of square, which would explain why it isn't sealing tight.
One fix might be opening the window and applying a 1/8" x 3/4" self adhesive foam weatherstrip.
