Budgeting for roof and dormers
How much should dog house dormers and a new roof cost? I just got an estimate of 25,000. That's several thousand above what I've budgeted for this part of my project.
Additional Background
I have a 36' x 22' cape house with a shed dormer on the back. I believe the pitch is 12/12. There are two layers of asphalt on the roof now, and I want to replace with asphalt. I also have ventilation issues and should probably have soffit vents cut at the same time. I want two small dh dormers on the front to get more light upstairs and balance the house but no need for additional space.

Welcome to the forums!
We don't know where you live, so it would be helpful for you to add that to your profile.
Even so, costs for work and materials vary widely from area to area, so much so that no one here will be able to give you a good figure.
As always on major projects, your best bet is to get multiple estimates from quality firms in your area, with clear definition of the work to be done and the materials to be used. Then you will know where the estimate you received stands.
