I am in the process of building a workshop and I am looking for specific guidance on building my own trusses. If anyone can help, let me know. Thanks,

Triwen

You can build a rafter, you can build something that looks like a truss, but you cannot build a truss. Trusses can only be made in a factory under the pressure of heavy gang nailers, and very close tolerances and engineering. Trusses are so cheap, that you can buy your trusses made, cheaper then you can buy the material and build them. You did not indicate your building width, but you can buy a pretty long truss all made to building code specs for $35.00. If you build your own, you will also have to take the load limits and bearing specs to your local permit department, and make sure they are up to code. They are very sticky about this area.
