Flash under exisiting patio door

I removed a small cantilevered deck from out second story house. I am just patching the siding where it use to be. How can I waterproof under the existing patio door?

Can i use a flexible adhesive to place it on the face of the rim joist and under the exisiting door sill plate so it is bent to a 90 degree angle to keep water out of the seam?

Thank you!

Some doors have a hollow aluminum threshold and you could probably tape across the sheathing below the door and stick it to the bottom of the threshold. The risk in doing this is that if any water ever does get into the rough opening, such as a leak from above, or around the sides of the door, the water would be trapped on bottom... so be sure no water can get in.

And give us more details about your door. A picture of the threshold would be good, from below, if possible.
