Forgot to glue gussets to rafters when building shed

Building my first shed and I nailed the gussets to the rafters and forgot to glue the gussets to the rafters before nailing them. I used a nail gun so I can't remove the nails. Will this be a problem? I don't understand the purpose of the glue and can't find what the purpose of the glue is online. Can I just add some wood screws to mace sure they are solid? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Glue just adds an overall adherence to the framing lumber. Often nailing is fine, but for a warm and fuzzy, add some screws through each one, you should be fine.
