How far can 33 feet of hip and ridge go?
Duh .. I have 35 feet of ridge and bought 1 bundle of Owens Pro Edge Hip & Ridge. I don't recall the thinking at the time.
Anyhow, it says it is good for 33 feet at 6 inch exposure. Is there any leeway here? Could they be installed 6 3/8" .. a wee bit more to make up for the extra 2 feet? without affecting the integrity of the installation or should I just go buy another package? The fellow that will be roofing said he might have some shingles in the same color around somewhere but he is referring to 3 tabs cut I believe. I know the hip and ridge have a shadow on it to give it a 3d look or whatever but what about quality of the shingle .. hip & ridge versus 3 tab?? Would it be quite obvious if there are a couple 3 tabs up there? The way our house is, you see the side of the house from all public areas .. you don't even see the roof but .. plan to sell in the near future so attention will be on the roof then. Your thoughts appreciated.

I dont know about the newer metric shingles, but you always used to have 27 shingles per bundle, 81 individual caps... 405" if spaced exactly 5" apart. If you spaced them at 5 3/8, you would gain about 30".
