I'm at a point where I need to replace some soffits which have rotted and then I have an area with no soffit at all. I like to figure out how to enclose that area to keep the wasps out and to ensure I don't get any water damage. I did not put this structure on my house someone else did so I'm just here to try and repair that. As you will see in my photos I have some rot in many places which I am in the process of replacing. My biggest issue is that the spot where the house and the patio meet is not constructed well so there is a lot of places for moisture and water to get in. While I'm doing this I like to figure out how to fix that area. In my photos you will see what I am talking about. I have also included some photos of the existing soffit that I am replacing. It's simply looks like 5/8 plywood And I just need to determine what the fascial board is constructed from.
