Best coatings for Torchdown roof?

Hi,

I've tried to do research on the net and its not very easy, so I'm hoping someone here can help.

I've got a house with a 6-7 year old torchdown roof and I'd like to extend the life of this roof as long as possible. Years ago there was a guy who specialized in torchdown roofing in Ohio, and he put on a torchdown roof on another house. He swore that as long as he coated the roof to protect it from UV rays every so often (every 10 years?), it would essentially last forever (well, you know what I mean--a very long time).

So I'd like to do this with my roof and wonder what the best coating(s) are and are there any tricks or tips I need to know about applying them or hiring someone to do it. Hopefully I haven't waited too long. The roof is in Michigan and still is in good shape.
