Above garage door is rotting from rain... Help!

The face of the house has the garage and when it rains it always hit from that direction.
So the rain hits the brick and runs down and is getting in the weep hole? or above the metal plate.
I have a few idea's what I would like to try but would like to see if anyone had this problem and how do you suggest fixing it.

Thanks

The metal lintel should be an L-angle, so water should not leak in there, and you should never caulk the edge of the lintel. I would suspect you have water getting in at the sill of the windows above.

As far as fixing it... stop the leak above by caulking the window sill to the brick sill and patch any cracks up there. Then replace the rotten wood. You can get pvc brickmold that won't rot.
