facia nails coming loose

I know this must seem like a trivial problem, but need to know how to fix it. I was looking at my house and on the gable ends the facia nails seem to be working loose. I don't know if it is just age or related to something else. just had the gutter replaced 3 years ago and contractor said facia boards with solid. what do you think just pound them back in, get bigger nails, what? the facia is white aluminum and so are the nails. they have been there for about 20 years. thanks

I'd just knock them back in. If they come loose again add a nail next to it.

The old aluminum nails do that. No real solution...you could get some clear caulk, like geocel 2300... put just a little dab on the point of each nail, then set them again.

The problem is that the old aluminum nails are kind of fat... and largely smooth. Most have switched over to using stainless steel nails, and some are ring shanked. But switching them out is not an option because the stainless nails are smaller.
