How often do we need to inspect the wood roof

How old is the roof? is it clean or does it have algae growing on it?

Almost all roofs are made of wood. What type of "roofing" material covers the wood framing? Shingles, tin, cedars shakes? What you want to inspect is the outside surface. Are the shingles curling? Have you had leaks? Is mold or moss growing on it?
