Exterior condensation on metal roof
Is EXTERIOR condensation/dew/dripping normal in the fall during cool mornings (when the sun comes out) on an unheated structure?

Well, its normal for a car windshield, so yeah I think it's normal for anything that's below the dew point in the morning.

I'm sure you've noticed that everything is wet with dew in the morning. The lawn, cars, trees and your roof.

Yes... I know this was kind of a stupid question - I just don't recall this much dripping in the fall, but it kind of shocked me. I had some cardboard next to the outbuilding's foundation, and it got soaked, was somewhat unexpected.

Both my house and barn have metal roofs. Both collect a lot of dew. A shingle roof will hold dew somewhat but a steel roof can only collect so much before it has to run off. It's not uncommon for the underside of the barn roof to have condensation this time of year.
