Converting mansard roof
Hi everyone,
My home has a mansard roof. The shingles on the upper level come down at the front to a small roof that covers my garage and mudroom. The shingles on the lower level come 3/4s of the way down from the top, belling out at the bottom.
Resources online are quite limited, but I have read some people have replaced the shingles along the side of the structure with siding. This would probably work on the upper level because it comes down to meet a lower roof, however would probably look weird on the lower level due to it belling out at the bottom. Is it possible to take the mansard off at this area completely and flatten it out so it can be sided? Thanks in advance.
