I am trying to replace a flat roof that sets on a sunporch the roof was previously made of roled out roofing with what appears to be years of tar-in-a-can repairs. I would like to replace it with a rubber roof but I know very little about them. Another factor in roofing choice is that I have a door accessing the top of the roof. I would like to put a deck of some sort on top of the roof. I recently saw a setup that was tar with gravel and pallet like sections of decking that simply set on the roof. If anyone has suggestions please fill me in.
We had a home inspection done recently and one of the items noted was incorrect "frashing" (I belive that's supposed to be flashing) kit on skylight). The notes indicate "kit is for 3/12 pitch roof or greater, have roofer correct." I've been unable to get a return phone call from the home inspector to clarify the problem. I'd appreciate any clarification anyone can give on the problem; advice on what needs to be done to correct it; and what cost might be involved. Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.
