Hello!
I am having a home built and have happened upon what I believe to be (one of many) a problem with my metal roof.
I was checking out the gable trim and how it was installed. I see the caulk and the z flashing. Yet the z flashing is pretty gappy and the caulk is gappy to. This pic doesn't depict the gappy caulk job...I found that on other ends of the house today before I fell off my ladder Some spots the caulk wasnt even sticking to the panel and was stuck to the gappy z flashing.
Anyway! I would like to know if this looks right . The panel isnt bent up an inch and this just doesnt look right to me. Does it look right to you ?
Wondering if there is a chance I could buy a currently-available asphalt shingle that would match some that were installed maybe 8 years ago. They are Owens Corning. I have a box from this job with a couple of shingles in it. The box says High Ridge AR Hip and Ridge 12" x 12" shingles TEAK (W/AR) TECA OC Material Code #353542 . Bar code looks like 47563 09635. I see that Lowe's has something called Owens Corning Oakridge 32.8-sq ft Teak Laminated Architectural Roof Shingles.
My questions are: do the companies carry through the color names so that they actually do match, or are these just generic type references? How do I see if this exact product is still available? Searching the UPC online doesn't seem to pull up anything.
Thanks,
Gary
I recently noticed that after I hear my sump pump kick on in the crawl space, I hear a sucking air sound. It was happening a lot during the spring, but I wasn’t sure exactly what it was. Now that it’s nice outside, I see there is a spot of exposed PVC pipe. Does this mean there is a crack somewhere right around the visible pipe and that’s where the air is likely sucking in? I’ve attached pictures. The entire distance from the house to the drainage field is about 30 feet. If it is in fact cracked, would it be possible to just dig up a small part or would I need to dig up the entire length of pipe to replace? Thanks in advance.
