I have an issue when it rains, water pools around the AC unit pictured below. It's a unique area as it closed off by the stone wall. I'm thinking my options are either fill it with cement and add slope so water runs away from house and onto the brick patio or use soil to add grading and some sort of drainage with a hole drilled through the stone wall and have water drain through it?
Which option is better? Or is there a better option?
That looks like a planter. If you are not going to use it as a planter I would use one of the methods you mentioned. Adding soil and grading it so water runs off instead of soaking in is a good idea though I think the bare dirt will be an ugly, muddy mess. At least concrete could be kept clean and neat.
moved into this house 2 years ago, we just had water leaked from porch floor into part of bedroom ceiling. we are in rainy area and depend on winds, the porch floor get water a lot. water seems came in along one of the joist and soaked the rest of drywall panel, I opened up a big area, no visible water, musky, high moisture, been running dehumidifier.
need help with
1. how can I determine if waterproofing was done before the ceramic tiles on the porch
2. i see one of the floor area sank lower than the rest and water can stuck in there. i suspect these water leaked through the grouts?
3. without redo the flooring, any suggestions on what I can implement for waterproofing the floor and ceiling?
thank you!

Hello. I'm in the process of fixing up my garage workshop. Along with new doors and heat, I need to install a channel or trench drain between garage and driveway to stop water from coming under the garage door. Its not a whole lot,, and it always flows back out but it is not ideal.
I've ordered Source1 drain channels and 2 quad connectors from Amazon. It seems pretty straight forward. Cut the asphalt out about 12", dig and place the plastic channels, then back fill with concrete. Easy peasy!
Has anyone used this product or done this job?
I have used my circ saw with diamond blade and water to cut a slot in asphalt, but this will be quite a bit more and I'm thinking about renting a larger saw from home depot to make the cuts.
I have a mixer that we've used over the years for many projects so that should be ok. Colder weather pour is new to me, but I think I can cover it well enough. Air Temps just hitting 30s around here.
Any advice?
