new damage or old?

Roof was repaired a couple years ago due to leaking syklight flashing. Now, after about 2 weeks of no rain, a portion of the ceiling below came down. there was clearly water damage at some point but I can't tell if it is new damage or the ceiling was previously weakened by the old leak and it just decided to give way. if it matters, this is in northeast Ohio and the temps around the time of failure were in the 80's and dry for over a week. I can see the roof rafters and planks through the hole and nothing is wet. The roof is over an unheated entryway so no insulation.

Do I go straight for the plaster repair or call a roofer?

I would wait for a good, hard rain. Since the ceiling is gone Look for daylight in the roof at different times of the day.

If the portion of the ceiling that fell was wet, the new roof is leaking.
