roof layed to short

When the roof was put down on one side of my house, they layed the first course to short ( not enough overhang over the facia board). There was no drip edge molding used. When it rains the water will run down the facia. I installed a drip edge molding along this side by sliding it under the shingles and nailing it to the facia. Now the drip edge molding extends out past the shingles. However, the rain still runs over the drip edge molding and down the facia. Have I done something wrong? Are there any other solutions? Thanks

Cool

Roofing is supposed to drain over the fascia (unless you have gutters).
That's why that it is important to keep it painted and sealed (and why I use pressure-treated wood for fascia).
Good Luck! Mike
