moss on roof
My father in law has a problem with moss on his garage roof. The roof is in shade for most of if not all the day. There are asphalt shingles on the roof. Is there a treatment available or another alternative to climbing on the roof and scrubbing off the moss?
Thanks.
Thanks.

the best way that i can think of involves getting up on the roof gently and safely scrapeing the moss off, spray a mix of bleach and water on and let it dry naturarly.some say a zinc strip up by your peak will keep it off due to chemical reactions- might be worth a try.hope this helps some, good luck and be careful

Hi all, new to the group - first post. I had severe amounts of moss on my asphalt shingle roof several years ago - constant shade from three tall spruces and daily precipitation of some sorts(northern vermont). For safety reasons with these trees leaning over the house - I removed all. I wondered if the moss may have permanently damaged shingles, but with the removal and the subsequent increase in sun on the roof's surface the following summer - the moss simply dried out and was washed off without any effort on my part. In my case, it seems the moss did'nt do any damage to the shingles, but simply was adhering to the surface. My 2 cents. -dave.
