Roof Inspection

Hi,
We just had a new roof put on our house by an Insurance
Restoration Company due to hail damage.

My question is before I sign off on the roof, is there any way that
I can verify that the job was done right. Should I call a professional inspector or can I do this myself. If myself, what are the key things I should look for.

Thanks,

Ron

You would have to hire a roof inspector, and then he can only see surface things. It is the things you cannot see that make a good roof. You might as well just sign off.

Thank you, I'll do a visual inspection myself.

Any things in particular that I should look for?

Thanks,
Ron

A roofing Inspector would be your best bet unless your have alot of roofing experience. Depending on your area and your building codes, including your local building codes there are alot of things to look for. One of the most important things to look for is if the contractor applied your new roof to meet the manufacturers specifications. If he did not you may not have a warranty on your new roof. Did the contractor supply you with a manufacturers Warranty? Bottom line here is you should have someone look at the job to verify your job was done properly.
