Putting on half a roof?!

Putting on half a roof?!
This spring I have to install the other half of a roof. The first half was installed about 3 years ago. I know this sounds strange but we did not own the house then.
I figure I will,
1) of course get the old roofing off.
2) install a plywood subroof.
3) roll out the roofing felt
4) begin at the bottom installing the ashpalt roofing.
Ok, have I missed anything?
I haven't mentioned this is my first roof installation LOL.
Would a metal roof be a better investment?

You have the basics, but you may run into problems if you get to a valley, or something like a roof jack that needs to be flashed. If you have afriend who has done some roofing before, that may be an option. But my suggestion is that you hire it done, since you have no experience. It may cost you $1,000 in labor, but it will save you $10,000 in destroyed insulation and ceilings!

LOL what insolation?
This house is over 150 years old. The insolation is in the attice floor.
I know a lot about roofing and home repair. I just have never actually done it. My brother worked as a helper to a guy when he was installing a roof. He is going to help.
The home improvement shows say it can be done by a homeowner as long as they remember it will be hard work and take a while.
Luckily the area for the replacement is just one long flat stretch. Maybe 50 feet long.
If I mess it up I will sue the local lowes store for allowing an idiot to try to install a roof and with the money I get I will hire someone. LOL
I am wondering if it would be cost effective to install a metal roof.
Will a metal roof last longer than the average 10 years of an ashphalt roof?
