Question Eves-replacement

My parents need to replace some eves on their home before they sell it. I think they have termite damage. How do we do this????

Thanks,

Cool

Standard eaves usually will consist of rafter tails for the framing, plywood soffits (under part of eaves) and a solid board fascia (face boards).

You can determine what is rotted, and cut it out to the centers of the nearest good rafter tails to replace it.
If the rafter tail is rotted, you will have to cut the rot out back to solid wood (maybe even back under the shingles and roof sheathing), and sister a rafter tail with screws onto the side of the solid rafter, and rebuild from there.
If they are planning on selling their home, and even think that they have termites, they should have it pest-inspected and treated if necessary, before repairing any damage.
Good luck!
Mike
