Question Question about flashing in Valleys

I have an addition that I am roofing and I was wondering what procedures I should follow to properly flash the valleys. I was at a local lumber supply company and they said most contractors use water and ice shield for flashing as opposed to aluminum, will that be sufficient?. Do I install the water and ice shield in one piece that travels down the entire valley, or multiple overlapping pieces? Also does the water and ice shield go down before the felt, or doesn't it matter? Thanks in advance.

I do roofing and I install ice and water in the valley first. One long strip to a max of 10'. Then ontop of this I install galvanised valley flashing in 10' lengths.
It's the best way to do valleys.
