Cool New Gutters

I have a 12 year old house with (that type of gutter). I pay
to have the roof cleaning people clean out my gutters. Later I
see birds bathing on my roof in my gutters.

I saw a product called RAINHANDLER that promises that it
self cleans and protects me and my property. Well???

That is nice, but is that product better than what I have or
should I upgrade an "OLD" gutter system.

I really appreciate help as I am the only person making this
decision and I don't know much about "maintenance, etc"
except to pay to have it done.

Rain gutters

Ttasha,

The Rain Handler product is good but I do have concerns about a couple of issues.

First, what is existing for landscaping at the roof edges where gutters would be placed. If it is soil or sod, problems could occur which would cause some splashing onto your home. Although the gutter system is designed quite well and you live in Florida, heavy rains could be a problem.

Second, if you don't have this problem and I assume your home is on slab, existing grade issues should be looked at. The issue of diverting water away from your home may be another issue. If neither of this are of concern, I would choose the Rain Handler. If not, stick with conventional gutters and downspouts but install a screen mesh to eliminate the gutter becoming a basket for leaves and birds. Various products are available and would probably cost less than what you will be paying for new gutters. Check with some local roofing and siding people first to get various views on the subject.

Good Luck!
