Question Plumbing Chimneys and missing boots

I recently had my home inspection and was informed that I would have to apply mastik to the plumbing chimneys because the boots had disintegrated. Does anyone know how to do this or have any suggestions?

Cool

You can get black plastic roofing cement and repair the boots, or you can replace them.
Use throw-away rubber gloves and old clothes with the roofing cement. It is very messy and sticky, and can even be applied in the rain.
To replace them, you just slide the new boots down over the vent pipes, raise the shingle above them and slide the new boot plate under it, and tack it down over the shingle below it. Then cover the metal plate with another piece of shingle to blend into the roofing.
Good Luck!
