Try freezing it with dry ice, and immediately flake it out with a spoon. ***Use gloves with dry ice***

Remove gum from carpet

With a dull knife or the edge of a spoon scrape away as much of the gum as possible and vacuum. Rub the gum with a piece of ice to harden and continue to scrape the gum out of the carpet. To remove gum residue, blot with rubbing alcohol or dry cleaning fluid until affected area no longer feels sticky.
