Carpet bunching up
My wife and I have a home office with a carpet and pad on the floor. In the last month or so the carpet bunches up slightly when our chairs, with casters, are rolled along. I know I should have one of those hard plastic pads where the chairs are, and I guess I will have to get a couple (hate the looks of them). Question is, can I re-stretch the carpet or have I done localized damage that re-streching won't help?

Rolling traffic on a stretched in carpet over padding is a no-no.
Most likely the carpet backings have delaminated, loosing its deminsional stability causing the wrinkles. They might stretch out. You won't know until you try.
