trimming loop pile carpet

i am thinking of installing a berber style loop pile carpet in a small room(no seams). is there a special tool to trim the baseboard edges to prevent cutting the loops (similar to what would be used if you were brave enough to attempt a seam) or do any cut loops just get tucked behind the tack strip? thanks

Yes John there is a special tool for trimming walls. It's called a wall trimmer, and all the cut loops get tucked into the gully.(space between the tack strip and wall.)

Along the width sides of the room, where the rows run down the wall instead of running into the wall. I like to trim it long, then pull a row of yarn down the edge, leaving a salvage edge along the edge. Then when you tuck, it keeps the edge yarn that is left, from coming off the edge and showing a cut short black line look along the baseboards.
