sisal impressions

Hi - I have a wool sisal carpet. When I moved a table that had been in one spot for a long time there was quite an impression in the carpet from the leg. Is there a way to restore this spot?

steam it and brush the fibers up with a spoon.

Wool is natural and so is sisal. I believe what you have is a wool flat weave. Is this a area rug or a installed piece. Most likely there will be no fiber to brush up. Padding of top quality is most important in an installation such as yours . Whjat type of padding is under it.

Carpet dents

To prevent furniture indentations, use coasters or pads under furniture legs, especially if the legs are on casters or rollers. As indicated, steam tends to remove dents. Place a damp cloth between the rug and the iron to avoid burning the fibers, and press the steam button repeatedly. Use fingers, fork or spoons to raise pile as pile as needed.

Note: Wool sisal provides the texture that looks like sisal (made from plant fibers) but without the scratch. Sisal textured carpet is currently very popular.
