Talking Finished project: Glue-down tacky strips for carpet over concrete

I followed the advice of this forum, and cut my tacky strip into 1' lengths and used a heavy duty adhesive (PL-400, maybe, I'll have to check), for carpeting over concrete.

I did not want to start punching holes in my nice, so-far dry concrete slab, and this technique worked quite well! I put the carpet down in a small room (10x11) using a knee kicker and all the strips held nicely. Before laying the carpet, I gave the adhesive 36 hours to cure with a very thick bead of application (1/4-3/8"). I used a tube and a half on about 40-50 feet of strip. I also cleaned the area w/ soap and water where the strips would go...no heavy-duty solvent needed (concrete was pretty clean to start with)

Thanks to the forum for a wonderful idea!!!! I'm very pleased with the way it turned out.

P.S. I used a closed-cell rubber pad, and it feels marvelous on bare feet.
