Laminate first or Carpeting first???

I'm going to be replacing the carpet in my living room and the flooring in my kitchen with laminate. Is it better to do one over the other first? They will be adjoinined at a thresh hold.

Thanks for any help!

we did the same thing. i was told to do the laminate first. we laid our laminate first and put in the appropriate edge moulding strip (reducer, i think it's called - ?) in the room opening. then the carpet guys could lay the carpet right up to that moulding. ours looks great.

doing the carpet first, i'm not sure how the carpet guys would be able to finish off that edge of the carpet, with nothing to tuck it down to.

but i'm not a pro. if that's wrong, someone correct me.

Carpet always should go last when possible. The carpet could be turned and tacked if it were done first, but only do it as a last resort.
