Help! Removing Carpet Glue From Concrete Floor

Does anyone have any suggestions on products or techniques to remove carpet glue from a concrete floor? I have tried what seems like everything, goo-gone, heavy duty cleaners, about the only thing I haven't tried is gasoline.

Any suggestions would be great!

Heat and a scraper usually do the trick. Make sure you're not going to ignite the solvent you've been using.

A citrus based cleaner and a glue scraper is what we found that works. Let orange/ citrus cleaner set on glue for at least 20 minutes.

Hot water, a mop, 4" wide flooring razor scraper, and a pair of knee pads.

Mop an area with the hot water. Let it sit for a minute. Scrape and clean up the mess.

I haven't even started to take up my ugly glued down carpet, but I have a question about the glue. I already knew it was going to be an ugly, back breaking job. But, the glue . . . . ugh! We are planning on putting down a laminate, click together, wood floor. We'll be using an underlayment first. How essential is it for us to remove all the glue with the underlayment? Will the underlayment cover some of the glue "sins"?! Thanks!
