Transition carpet to hard wood floor
We have carpet installed through the hallway leading to our bedrooms, which are also carpeted with the same carpet. All the carpet is installed over hardwood floors. I wish to cut the carpet in the hallway out but keep the carpet in the bedroom. I will then have hardwood floors in the hallway. What is the best method of transitioning the carpet wit the hardwood floor under the doorway to each bedroom. The carpet is going to be higher than the hardwood and I don't want to use metal strips , it will look cheap. Any helpful ideas??

Z-bar and a tackstrip, in unision. Basically turn the edge under the metal Z-bar and beat it down with a hammer. No exposed metal and it looks like a turn and tack(without the tacks) so it doesn't look like a drive by shooting.
