Removing carpet from concreate

I am in the process of removing carpet from a concreate floor where the installers were over zelous with the glue. Is there a solvent that will help disolve the glue? I have rented a carpet removal machine, but I still need something to make it easier. Any suggestions?

What are you planning to do afterward? If putting carpet down again, the possibilities are a little wider and you could use a solvent for this like mineral spirits (assuming adequate ventilation).

If you're planning to install tile, I would only use hot water to loosen the glue.
