Runners

I have white carpet in my bedroom. It's fairly new but in my hallway to the closet and bathroom I am starting to see bad dark tracks. Are runners really worth putting down or do you think they are a waste of money?

If you can clean up the carpet a clear runner would work, otherwise they would need to be opaque.

Personally, I would not use them but I would also not have chosen white carpet.

Regular Pro cleaning will probably keep them looking better. That and a no shoes rule.....

White is bad....looks nice in pictures...but very high maintenance.

I don't know if I'll be able to afford professional cleaning, I was hoping to avoid that, but I guess we'll see.

Sorry, but with white carpet you're going to need carpet cleaning more than the average person. And a pro is in order - our leases specifically prohibit tenants from cleaning carpets themselves, they have to hire a pro because the DIY equipment is just not good enough.

Wow, that's interesting- but a good rule to have.
