Removing carpet foam backing

The easiest and safest way of doing this project is to use the PEEL AWAY 5 stripping product. It needs a dwell time of about 2/3 hours but it will effortlessly remove the adhesive and backing for you

Is it a concrete or wood subfloor under the rubber back?
Becareful using strippers like hy suggested. They will leave a residue that needs to be cleaned off real good, or the glue will not hold when installing the new carpet. The strippers will soak into a wood subfloor and you will be up the creek. I use a wire brush on wood subfloors and a razor scraper on concrete.
