Question

i have just moved into a new apartment and found that under the carpet are some great flooring tiles. But trying to get the edge grippers up has been really tough - they're glued to the edge tiles and every time Itry to lift them the tile will crack.
Shall I just cut away the part of the tile with the gripper?
and how should I seal this edge (it's about an inch)?
hoping you guys have an answer.

it's linoleum.
about 25 years old and it's great.
if i wrench it tends to crack, but softly softly does the trick.
it's just this glue that's bothering me. and the fact it keeps part of the plywood gripper.

me again

Dear mr. stuck gripper,
Try electric heat gun or hair dryer, this should help, it will be a slow process, get a BIG bottle of wine, set on the floor and heat it up,the gripper and glue, not the wine, use a scraper to help pull up the stuff, then you will probably have glue residue to deal with .acetone may remove it, or some type of non flammable cleaner, as I said a slow process, you may need 2 wine bottles. keep me posted.
