Help! We recently had a flooded floor and have aired out and dried the carpet but are left with a terrible Odor. What can we do other than replace the carpet?

Carpet after a flood

Mold/mildew in carpet that has been flooded is not a healthy thing. You may find that folks will develop allergy and respiratory problems, have headaches, rashes, and other complaints. Get rid of all the damaged carpet & pad.

Installing carpet on concrete floor

We are planning on installing a berber carpet in our new family room, located in our basement. I have heard all the pros and cons of installing over concrete, and, notwithstanding, WILL be doing it, with a heavy pad underneath. Our only question concerns installation of tackless strips. Of course, tackless is designed to be nailed into wood. How do you attach tackless to concrete? Is any tackless made with masonry nailers? Is glueing an option? Read More
