carpet cleaning which?? steam or regular clng
Iam looking for someone who has done carpet clng. O/S service/I am about to have my home cleaned 4 rooms and hallway. Whats your take on type of cleaning? steam good or bad-regular ole carpet cleaning? Our carpet is 25 years please ; lmk Hes coming monday or tuesday - regular cleaning carpet guy

Steam cleaning gets it cleaner, but can make it brittle, can shrink it and also remove scotchguard. Dry cleaning can leave chemicals in that attract dirt and make it get dirty faster. It is a crapshoot.

Most important thing is they have sufficient power to remove all of the cleaning chemicals and then do so.

How much does your carpet cost? Been DIY most of the problems at home and have a Moroccan rug which I bring to a carpet cleaning expert (not a house cleaning expert) as they have a specific cleaner for it. But if your rug is from Target then maybe steam would do. Choosing from steam vs dry cleaning it, I would choose steam to really get rid of the dust.
