Hi, looking to close on a house soon. We went to the local flooring store and saw a few carpet samples from low price to high prices. One brand which we liked was Karastan but was in the much higher price range. We are looking to do 2-3 rooms with plush carpet and the rest of the rooms with semi plush carpet. We are trying to keep the budget low but don’t want carpet that will fail within 5 years.
Any recommendations would be great. Thanks!

Just moved into a home with carpet to tile transition in bedroom doors. We want to prevent pets from "fraying" the carpet at these points. I've searched/seen posts on suggestions for carpet repair in this situation, but we want to get ahead of it. Would installing a metal transition "seam binder" work? There is a tack strip under the carpet (about 1/4" from tile) and concrete under that.
Thank you for any thoughts on solutions.
