Like I said in post #7, you would need to take the ENTIRE shroud off. It is only like 3 bolts. You don't remove the rivets. You take the shroud off and work on the starter spring from the inside.

It's just one reason why subfloor for tile should be 1 1/8" thick. (1 1/4"+ is better) That assumes the joists are stiff enough. If they aren't, no amount of subfloor will help.

If that's all they have, cut it down and make it work. Personally I wouldn't put vinyl soffit and fascia on a doghouse. Aluminum is vastly superior and easier to work with.
