Repairing a non-leaking floor jack

I've got a floor jack that doesn't leak any fluid, but it will only lift the car a couple inches. I keep pumping but it goes no higher? It used to work just fine.

Any ideas/suggestions?

You are correct, if the tile was applied over unpainted drywall. Every backsplash I've seen was applied over a painted wall, which makes it easier to pull the old tile off.

My run was too long so I made my own reducer. You could use a 2x4 and shave it down to shape with a table saw and router. It takes a little work, but it's a source of pride.

Mesh tape

Howdy,

If you're going to use mud and tape, I recommend using the mesh tape. It won't re-crack anywhere near as easily as paper tape.
