Ok. That makes sense. I never thought of it like that. So I assume that's why the home owner meter was showing so much overall draw, since its measuring each leg coming into the panel?

But should the clamp on show 18 amps on each leg? Only other is the stove and I havnt really looked into its power draw.

Water heater power usage

Ok I'm assuming I'm over looking something here. I have a home energy monitor and when the hot water heater was running it showed around 4500 watts being pulled. Ok fine, but when I switch it over...

Yes they get hot. As soon as you click the dial over to start the burner heating up the lights pop back on. ( remember the stove and the lights are not on the same circuit)

They came out and checked a the meter socket, and the connections on the other side of the main breaker. They also checked the connections at the transformer. He said everything looked good.

Ok, bit of a update. This has happened twice...

Ok, bit of a update. This has happened twice now, when the power goes out in the room, if I turn on the stove (which is on its own circuit) the power comes back on. Any ideas?

Yes the first outlet from the breaker loses power as with everything else. I wasn't sure if breakers really went bad. I will try changing it out
