I didn't know the shower pans had a clear-coat type finish, I thought it was just plastic and when you sand down it goes down to more plastic, no?

What is this unsightly orange stain in the plastic shower pan and how do I get

rid of it?

Tried the goo gone spray and foaming and scrubbed the tar out of it but the orange stain is standing its ground.

Any other ideas short of bringing out the sander?

A lag bolt is unusual, most often people run over nails and screws.
And in those nail/screw situations (which will happen), the plugging process takes less time than locating the nail or screw....
