For a cable to come off while closing the door manually, the door has to catch on one side(the side with the cable off). You have Napoleon track it has a problem sometimes with single spring doors....

I had a problem with not all the water pumping...
I had a problem with not all the water pumping out a few years ago. the solution was to move the drain hose so it ran first up, then over to the drain. Your problem sounds like a pump or motor issue....
