Yeah it was just the core, either way it did not work. the core pieces I got differ from what I took out. I think the core piece broke inside and i couldn't get it out. The new tank cost 25 bucks...

While we are on expansion tanks, is it worth/possible to replace the "tire" valve. Additionally there are several manufacturs of tanks i.e. amtrol, watts... Doe it make a difference?
