Question Tape Required?

Stripped bathroom wallpaper. Heavy glue underneath, probably have cleaned enough off. Vertical wallboard joints, that are not corners, look as though they were not taped and joint compound applied....

I should have responded earlier that the reason that there are 2 switches instead of just 1 to turn on both pumps at the same time is that the pool pump is supposed to be turned on first to bleed air...
